De Ketelaere is a versatile attacking player. While predominantly being a striker, particularly throughout his youth career, De Ketelaere is very good on the left wing or as a #10. But what is unique about him is that he can be deployed in every attacking position.
According to WhoScored.com, Charles Ketelaere’s strengths are Key passes, Dribbling, Holding on the ball & Defensive contributions. His style of play is very similar to that of De Bruyne.

He might usually be recognised as a forward, Dee Ketelaere drifts in between the lines often as can be seen from his heat map. De Ketelaere quite visibly likes to drift in from the flanks more often than from central areas and often attacks opposition fullbacks in transition.

How would Charles fit in Pioli’s system? Primarily Charles De Ketelaere, will play in the same position that is of Brahim Diaz. The #10 role in Pioli’s system. Not only will he be able to play on both flanks, but he can also play upfront incase of emergencies.
With the qualities Charles already has, he will be an amazing addition to the #10 role in Pioli’s system. Having a tall frame, & various strong defensive attributes. There is no surprise Charles will be an amazing addition to AC Milan.
Reminder that at just 20 years old, de Ketelaere offers more experience at the highest level than many of his much older peers – an intangible that is to be considered when analysing him.
Why will he be good for AC Milan? As we saw towards the end of the season, Pioli slowly might shift his 4231 into a 433. Because it is easier to adapt modern footballing tactics with a 433 formation.
Charles has attributes such as Muller’s or De Bruyne’s, which can applied when playing as a Center-midfielder next to Tonali, Bennacer, Yacine Adli & Renato Sanches. This will take Pioli’s midfield to the next level. Through diversity & intelligence.
