I wonder how many countries in the world this would still be national headline news for months/years?
DC school shooter was 23 years old; described himself as "an AR-15 aficionado" and a "basedman"; bought an arsenal of guns/ammo legally but modified rifles to become fully automatic; used a baby monitor for video surveillance; posted his exploits to 4chan and Wikipedia.

Votes in the U.S. Senate on gun policies in the wake of the Uvalde massacre could occur on June 8/9

Schumer wants to file cloture when Senate returns from recess in a week on either a bipartisan deal or a House-passed background check bill.
It takes a couple of days to set up a cloture vote unless all 100 senators agree to accelerate it.
Even then it could be cloture on *proceeding to a bill.* Absent consent of all 100, you need cloture both to proceed to a bill and then to end debate on any amendments and then on the final bill. Multiple cloture votes = days and days.

At least 10 members of Congress now drive Teslas, most of whom are Democrats who say they separate their cars from their views of @elonmusk or his companies.
One Republican, MIT-trained engineer @RepThomasMassie of Kentucky, pre-ordered his Model S and had to wait, and wait, and wait. He had #3,347 delivered in 2013, when Tesla was still in its infancy.
