Judge Maumela will make a ruling on the attendance of Ten10 films during the proceedings.

Maumela: Media houses, many if not all, applied or requested to film by submitting forms in order to be inside the court room and particularly to be engaging in all activities, in terms of recording and notifying the public about what is happening in the trial. #SenzoMeyiwatrial

Maumela: there were no ground rules set. It was presumed media houses are not attending court proceedings for the first time. They would know what to do and not to do. It’s not proving to the case in this trial. #SenzoMeyiwatrial #SenzoMeyiwa

Maumela: The usual case is the cameras concentrate on the role players (witnesses, legal reps, etc). One of the legal reps complained that cameras zoom in when they consult with their client which has made them very uncomfortable #SenzoMeyiwatrial #SenzoMeyiwa

Maumela: we are running a trial in an open court within a democratic country where public interest is recognised within our processes.
The request has to do with the purity of these proceedings. #SenzoMeyiwatrial

Maumela: the state spoke about the flighting of the documentary before the trial began. That’s not what we are here about. Someone mentioned the matter should’ve been raised before the trial started and in another court. #SenzoMeyiwatrial #SenzoMeyiwa

Maumela: the fundamental point arises who’s who where the media houses are concerned. Adv Teffo strongly indicated Ten10 films is not a media house. All I have is information that they indeed are not a media house. #SenzoMeyiwa #SenzoMeyiwatrial

Maumela: in order to ask anyone to leave, I have to tell the person first. If the allegations are true against how Ten10 films have behaved, it would be ideal for people who conduct themselves in that way not to be inside the court. All I have is utterances. #SenzoMeyiwa
