It's a beautiful day in my neck of the woods and I hear the sound of teenagers playing in the pool with Music in the background. Feels like a good time to share some reflections. A short thread -
/. We are in for some tough times both as a nation and as a society. That may dismay some but I look at it as an opportunity. Struggle gives you purpose. In good times it might be hard to figure out what our purpose but in difficult times the struggle becomes our purpose . .
/ the struggle becomes an opportunity for us to focus our energy and time on something bigger than us. I believe that some of the causes for mental health issues we have in our young people is because they don't have a big struggle/purpose to orient their life towards.
/ I have found happiness when I have been able to attach myself to a cause much greater than me. When you fight for things much bigger than you, you realize how all the little things matter so little. We are one of 8 billion people in a small planet.
/ No problem we individually face is that significant in the grand scheme of time or history. Channel your energies and struggle to a great cause and whether you succeed or fail you will find purpose and when you find purpose you'll find meaning in your life
/ if you can find a way to live your life for others and not yourself. I guarantee you, you will find happiness and satisfaction. This is basically what all the great philosophers and books eventually arrive at. Secret to life is to find something bigger than us to believe in
