Advocate Malesela Teffo begins the cross examination. #SenzoMeyiwa
Mosia now reading his affidavit from 2019, 5 years after the soccer star was killed. #SenzoMeyiwatrial
Mosia: On 4 June 2019, Colonel Buthelezi from PTA office requested a statement from me regarding the murder scene in Vosloorus, in October 2014. 💃🏽#SenzoMeyiwatrial
Mosia: She said the reason for the statement is to explain the manner in which the crime scene was handled since I was the first forensic officer who was there. #SenzoMeyiwatrial
Mosia: I received a call from Brigadier Ndlovu that there’s been a shooting and he said I must go to the hospital. This is where I saw a lot of people in the parking lot, I introduced myself to the police officers and they took me to the crime scene. #SenzoMeyiwatrial
Mosia: I arrived at the crime scene in Vosloorus at 00:20 on the 27th of October. I met Brigadier Ndlovu. I asked how many suspects were involved, how many gunshots, time of the incident, etc. this information I received from Brigadier Ndlovu.
Mosia: From the information I received: at about 20:00 on the 26 october, Two African males entered the house. A known soccer player was shot and taken to Botshelong hospital but died on arrival.
Mosia: The incident of the murder scene was reported 4 hours after the murder. All the delays in dealing with the murder might have compromised the crime scene. #SenzoMeyiwatrial
Adv Teffo: can you confirm now the reason to have written that statement in 2019 it was pertaining to the case number 375 with the investigating officer being Colonel Buthelezi? #SenzoMeyiwatrial
Adv Teffo: before the adjournment, you were adamant that you couldn’t be persuaded that the scene could’ve been contaminated. Do you remember that?
Adv Teffo: Having read your statement whereby you were given all the time to write about your findings at the scene about 4 years, 4 months later. You agreed Colonel Buthelezi was helpful and kind. She didn’t put pressure on you to write the statement.
Mosia: that’s correct.
Adv Teffo: After reading this statement, do you regret writing this statement or the contents of the statement?
Adv Teffo: after reading your statement, can you explain that you still don’t believe there was a contamination of the crime scene?
Mosia: I can only answer on my time of arrival and my relationship with the crime scene itself until the handing over of exhibits.
Adv Teffo: after reading this affidavit, something came up that you didn’t mention in your previous testimony.
“I was on standby. I received a call where the caller identified himself as Brigadier Ndlovu speaking about the shooting. He instructed me to go to Botshelong Hospital”
Adv Teffo: in your previous testimony, You said you had to find the address on your own. You also said the address not being provided to you delayed your arrival on the scene.
Adv Teffo: The investigators for the 375 docket are determined that the people earmarked to be the suspects (7 of them) must be arrested, charged and prosecuted.
Baloyi gets up: We hope these investigators will be called to testify.
Adv Teffo: Are you now aware that there are two cases that have been opened in regards to this murder?
Mosia: Now I know.
Adv Teffo: The theory of the first case is that two men entered the house and when they left, our hero #SenzoMeyiwa was killed. Leading to the five men behind me being arrested. Can you see them?
Mosia: I see them.
Adv Teffo: The other case says it is nonsensical that two people entered that house. What is being said is that there were people in that house that day, the owner, family and visitors, including our beloved son of the soul. #SenzoMeyiwa.
