Ontario, please don’t allow Doug Ford to remain in power. Over the past 4 years, his government proved they won’t #getitdone for you if you’re a hungry child who needs breakfast, Autistic, Franco-Ontarian, in high school, have an addiction or mental health challenge, a teacher…
…an endangered species, don’t applaud him, enjoy safe food and water, read library books or live in Toronto, are indigenous, get sick while traveling abroad, don’t want your property to be flooded, rely on legal aid to afford justice, have an appreciation for facts & science…
…vulnerable youth, struggling to afford college or university, seek childcare, a resident or worker in a Long Term Care Home, small business owner, park user, the Greenbelt, a worker who might get sick for more than 3 days, a public health expert trying to provide advice…
…a midwife, someone going through a natural disaster, a nurse, a public health expert offering advice or almost anyone other than a well connected lobbyist. But, if you own land near the proposed Highway 413, or are a big donor to their party, they’ll #getitdone for you…
…In all sincerity, the past 2 1/2 years clearly demonstrated how consequential our provincial government is in our daily lives. They can literally make life or death decisions. They affect how affordable, or unaffordable, our lives become. We can choose better. Let’s #getitdone.
PS- I have no doubt that I didn’t include everyone who has been hurt by this government in the above thread. But I do see you. I’ve spoken with paramedics, residents in rural Ontario, and so many others who weren’t served well by a government that wasn’t good at governing.

The Ford government’s Bill 109 “More Homes for Everyone” is an irresponsible and disappointingly immature response to a serious issue- Ontario’s housing crisis. In particular, I want to bring attention to the section of the Act that financially penalizes municipalities for not…
…approving a development within 90 days. This will actually have the perverse effect of slowing the development process down as more developments will end up at the Ontario Land Tribunal.
If a developer is building a cookie-cutter subdivision on a greenfield…
…site, perhaps 90 days is reasonable. But when a Planner is considering a development proposal for a site like Honest Ed’s, the Galleria, or Canada Square in my community, 90 days arbitrary and irresponsible…
1/4) Given the devastating impact COVID-19 has had on public health, our society, and on our freedom to enjoy the “normalcy” we had before, it’s time to provide people a choice- either be vaccinated, protect each other and contribute to ending the pandemic, or be prepared to…
2/4) …forfeit privileges. This is a critical and proven step toward incentivizing many who are still hesitant. As we enter the fourth wave, I believe the mayor and Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health should do everything within the City’s legal purview to…
3/4)…incentivize vaccinations- including mandating them for all City employees without a legitimate medical exemption and entry to City facilities and recreation programs. I believe Torontonians have a right to be healthy, safe and that they want this pandemic to finally…
The 1951 Yonge proposal is an example of how industry lobbyists convinced the Ford government to change planning policy. This is wrong- we need school capacity, services, parks and infrastructure. Our quality of life should come before the financial interests of developers.
As opposed to what the Ministry of Municipal Affairs rep is telling you, this is actually (revised due to Ford gov changes) a proposal for two towers, 45 & 30 storeys respectively, atop an 8 storey podium with no affordable units, and casting shadow over Davisville Public School.
