One month ago, we opened the Eorzean Aquarium to the public - and the response was... extremely overwhelming. We were shocked at the massive reception of the project.

So, on behalf of the #EorzeanAquarium team...

Thank you so very much for making this thing... a thing. #FFXIV
Just a few little stats.

In the first DAY we estimated well over 1,000 players went through the aquarium.

We had a few hundred messages in our books, with thousands of likes shared across the rooms.

We also had visitors from *every data center* visit in just that night.

Not sure if this was intentional - but it is canon that the trout population around the Battle of Carteneau was impacted...

So here's a #FFXIV Fish Lore Thread™ on how the Seventh Umbral Calamity and the Baha Blast affected the trout population. 🧵
To start, there are NO trout around the site of the Battle of Cartenaeu... until you get to E and S Thanalan. This is the opposite end of the region where the battle was (as I understand it).

There is only ONE SPECIES OF TROUT IN THANALAN.

If you look at the description for a Warmwater Trout, you find that it is actually native to La Noscea, specifically Upper La Noscea at the base of the O'Ghomoro Volcano where the water is warm enough for it live. You can catch them in Oakwood and Fools Falls. ImageImage

Come join the aquarium staff on Ocean Fishing Voyages as we help you get your Shark mount! You provide the rod, we got the rest! #FFXIV
You can come to one, or both of the events! You'll join up with similar-leveled fishers and get level specific tips and advice for your voyage. We're going to do our best to get everyone their Shark Mount!
If you're new to Ocean Fishing, check out my starter guide below. You'll want to make sure you've unlocked Fisher *and Ocean Fishing* for this event.
