Ukrainian troops risk being trapped by Russian forces around the eastern city of Severodonetsk after recent fighting.

🔎 So what can the 'Severodonetsk pocket' tell us - and what might it mean for the wider conflict?
🗺️ Russia has concentrated its forces in a ‘pocket’ between Popasna and Lyman that could encircle Ukrainian defenders
❌ The fighting has been brutal – artillery barrages, trench warfare, and the use of incendiary weapons have all been a part of the battle.

Satellite imagery shows that Popasna is almost completely destroyed

In the back of St Aubyn’s Church, Reverend Michael Shaw is laying out donations for the weekly food club.

“I’m not proud of this,” he tells Sky’s @danwnews
Michael is keen to stress this isn’t a food bank, it’s a club.

Anyone can sign up to be a member, for one pound a year – allowing them to fill a carrier bag for two pounds. “It’s really quite crazy the sudden need that’s occurred” he says Image
Mum of four Bea Neary arrives at the food club with her nine-week old son. She tells us that at the end of each week, there is no cash left:

“You’re not left with nothing. Once the gas and electric - oh my god - it’s so high, so this helps” Image

Every day in the Luhansk area, police are bringing fresh corpses to join the pitiful and growing mountain of victims of this war.

“There are men, women, children… everyone is in there,” one of the policemen told Sky News near an informal gravesite
There’s no time for mourning. The latest victims lay piled on top of each other, wrapped in body bags.

“We're keeping everything on a database,” says Luhansk police chief Oleh Hryhorov. ‘With God’s will, the relatives will know where they're buried and bury them properly later’

After six weeks of evidence, Johnny Depp's high-profile libel trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard is finally over

But what did we learn from the multi million pound Depp/Heard trial? Sky News has taken a look 👇

news.sky.com/story/depp-v-h…
Depp sued Heard for $50m over a first-person article published in The Washington Post, in which she referred to herself as "a public figure representing domestic abuse"

Heard's column did not mention Depp by name, but he argued it was an example of "defamation by implication"
The jury heard from friends, including supermodel Kate Moss, family members, medics, therapists and staff who worked with and spent time with the former couple

Depp and Heard took the stand twice each themselves, with both giving differing accounts of their relationship

The 18-year-old who shot his grandmother before killing 19 children and two teachers at a school in Texas is not believed to have left a manifesto or note explaining his actions.

Messages he sent to strangers online have begun to surface.

Here’s what they tell us⬇️
Ramos had a number of social media accounts and used the same photos and usernames on them

He was particularly active on Yubo – an app which enables users to make new friends with people based on their location
His Yubo was verified with a tick, meaning he sent evidence of his identity to the app

He used at least two usernames across social media - first his real name but later "TheBiggestOpp"

Ramos promoted his accounts across his profiles. Here's his Yubo promoting his Instagram

There’s nowhere to run and few places to hide in the besieged city of Severodonetsk.

Life has a post-apocalyptic feel here, but some civilians display a determination to survive, as @AlexCrawfordSky reports Image
The people here cook food on fires in the open, power and running water stopped weeks ago.

But it’s always done within easy reach of their underground shelter Image
To descend down here is to enter a truly grim, dank and perpetually dark place.

Desperation and despair stalk the concrete corridors, and disease is running riot Image
