Yesterday we passed a bill in the Ohio house allowing ANYONE to question ANY child athlete’s gender and require them to have a physician write a statement based on 3 things:

1. Their INTERNAL and external reproductive anatomy 2. Their normal endogenously produced testosterone levels and 3. Their genetic make-up 2/8

Any child who might appear “too masculine” or “too feminine” can be questioned and required to prove their gender with invasive, sensitive tests and exams. 5/8

Or perhaps any child who simply performs too well. Could this happen in the middle of a football game when the star quarterback is about to throw a touchdown? Is there to be a “gender challenge” flag? 6/8

This bill is a witch hunt - mobilizing mobs to ensure that children conform to extreme narrow views, subjecting them to indignities if they don’t. 7/8

With all of the trauma and challenges that young people are experiencing right now, I am shocked that the majority in the Ohio House has chosen to pile on. 8/8

Ok - you guys are right. Shocked isn't quite right. Dismayed fits better... outraged, distraught - these also work.

To clarify since some are questioning - I spoke loudly against this amendment and voted NO as did all of my Democrat colleagues. This measure passed on party lines with all Republicans voting yes.
