I think this speaks to why GenX is SO FUCKING OVER THIS SHIT, because we've been carrying this angst the longest.

All I can say is VOTE, y'all. So future generations don't have to bear the burdens of their youth throughout their entire lives.

If we're not working towards a future where mass shootings are UNHEARD of, nothing we do will ever matter.
Not your mortgage. Not your pension. Not your 401k.

Kids don't need to be shot at to develop C-PTSD; just being told they *might* be shot at is enough. Being made to run

drills *just in case* is MORE THAN ENOUGH.

Overcoming childhood trauma is quite possibly the most difficult endeavor a human may embark on. For it is in our adolescence, we forge synaptic responses to stimuli. When every reaction your young brain produces is filtered through

chaos it's damn near impossible to develop any healthy responses to what life throws at you. Being perpetually in 𝒇𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 v 𝒇𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 mode indefinitely is EXHAUSTING, mentally, emotionally, intellectually, psychologically, & physically.
That's what happens when kids grow up

traumatized, they become broken, haggard, disassociated, disconnected, beat down adults. That's what we're doing. We're creating our own dystopia. Self fulfilling prophecy.

We been knowin' the problems for years now!
It's time we kick the living shit out of them.
