I saw a meme of this kid mowing right next to Ivana's grave and it reminded me of helping my dad mow the grass on the hill down to the lake. It was to steep to walk. We had to do an ess curve in the stairs or the rise would have been too high on the steps. Image
So dad tied a rope to the mower and lowered it down the hill. The thing is you have to have a rope on the front and someone pulling it down to keep the front from going up in the air. That was my job. But the flat at bottom of the hill was only 3' wide which meant I put.on waders
and stood in the lake. Waders because of leeches! Dad would lower the mower, I would keep it aligned and steer where it went all from the shore. Eventually we put in five rows of garden terraces but we did this for years from when I was about that kid's age.

I'm getting awfully tired of the mainstream of the GOP being contrasted with the fringe of the Dems to make a both sides argument.

I am even more tired of the fringe on the left saying Dems would be conservatives in Europe. Only if the rights of marginalized people are ignored.
Abortion is illegal in Malta, Vatican City, Liechtenstein, Andorra, and Poland, and only recently legalized in Ireland.
Marriage is defined as a union solely between a man and a woman in the constitutions of Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine.

Who remembers Wade Churchill? He was a University of Colorado professor whom no one had ever heard of until the media started featuring him as an example of Democratic lack of sympathy for 9/11. They could not find any elected saying we deserved 9/11 so they scoured the country
At last, they had someone who they could hold up as a bad liberal as a counterpoint to the ravings of some Republican belligerents who wanted to level Afghanistan and Iraq. The turned an unknown into a temporary media star. Shame on them.

I said I was twice reminded of the stumbling block concept. If you're interested, the second person who reminded me of it was Heavenly of #M2M who is ostentatiously religious but a mean, malicious gossip. Her faith enables her behavior rather than change it.
She could buy a private jet if she got a dollar every time she asked forgiveness. But her behavior never changes with forgiveness. She just does it again and again and again. The epitome of the stumbling block - someone who demonstrates that morality comes from within not without
And because she relies on the forms of faith, her behavior is immoral - not in the terms of modern society that thinks all immorality is sexual, but in the sense of a person who knows right from wrong and chooses to do wrong.

Growing up Baptist, we were always told not to be stumbling block. We were expected to show through our behavior that faith had a positive effect on our character & our actions. If we behaved badly, we might unknowingly impede someone's path to salvation. A stumbling block.
I realized gods were unnecessary to morality and good character long ago and the "stumbling block" concept kind of faded away. But it was brought to mind twice in the last week, most seriously by David Hogg who is a stumbling block to winning gun reform.
Cynicism and despair create the kind of apathy that says "my vote doesn't matter" and "voting doesn't work" and "there's no difference between the parties." If you follow Hogg (I don't) you will see that he stokes anger by feeding cynicism and despair.

The folks who criticize KHive for being mean write their dramas in three acts.
Act 1
Option A. Someone QTs or replies to a tweet by someone associated with KHive asserting something that is contradicted by evidence.
Option B. Someone makes an egregiously statement & KH replies
Act Two
Their assertion is rebutted with links to articles and screenshots from mainstream news sites and government sites.
They continue to assert their claim with increased certainly but with no evidence.
More receipts are provided.
Act Three

KHive is so mean to me.

Blue check influencers and self-described opinion leaders echo the claim, KHive is so mean.

KHive shrugs. You can't fix mendacity.
