Election law professor Al Agra reminds candidates, both winning and losing, need to file their Statement of Contribution and Expenditures (SOCE).
Atty. Agra on importance of SOCE: Pinaka-layunin ang transparency. Lahat ng natanggap mo para sa kampanya, ginastos ay kailangan ilista. Maliwanag sa batas na may limit ang gastos.
Atty. Agra on allowed expenditures under SOCE: Pwedeng sarili mo lahat ang gastos. Pangalawa, ang sinumang nag-contribute sayo kung sakali ay Filipino individuals, domestic corporations.
Atty. Agra reminds foreign nationals, GOCCs, civil servants, police personnel are among those prohibited from making campaign contributions to candidates.
Candidates who accept such can be charged an election offense.
Atty. Agra on winning candidates' filing of SOCE: Kung di ka mag-file ng June 30, di ka makakaupo.
Atty. Agra stresses losing candidates must file SOCE: Pano kung manalo ka next election? Kapag repeat offender ka, lalaki ang multa mo at baka ma-perpetual disqualification ka pa.
Atty. Agra on president-elect's appointments: Parang nomination process siya. Pwede pa rin magbago ang desisyon ng Presidente bago or even after June 30.
LOOK: Scenarios for outgoing President Rodrigo Duterte's appointees once he steps down from office at 12:01 p.m. on June 30.
Atty. Agra on bypassed Duterte appointees: This is not the first time nangyari ito. Kung sino ang natitirang na-confirm, sila-sila muna. Maaapekto 'yan sa decision-making nila. bit.ly/3tkZUaP
Atty. Agra: Kung ad interim ka at na-bypass ka, hanggang panahon ka lang nung Kongreso na 'yun.
Atty. Agra on Duterte appointees: Lahat ng Cabinet officials, dahil sila ay coterminous, by June 30 ay kailangan nang umalis sa kanilang posisyon. Pwede lang silang tumuloy if sila'y mare-reappoint ni incoming Pres. Marcos.
Atty. Agra says Duterte's appointees in GOCCs will stay in office beyond noon on June 30 on a holdover term unless they are removed or replaced.
