HAPPENING NOW: DOJ says in court (during a fortitously timed Proud Boys hearing) that it anticipates the Jan. 6 select committee releasing all 1,000 witness transcripts in September, along with its final report.
That could occur during or right around the timing if the Proud Boys trial, which is slated to begin in August, and both sides in the case are concerned about what affect this could have on their timing.
DOJ says it still hasn't received any of the Jan. 6 committee's transcripts despite ongoing talks with the select committee.
And now DOJ gives a clue about why the committee might not want to hand over transcripts: When it gets them, DOJ says it will provide those transcripts to defense attorneys as part of its discovery obligations.

DOJ is recommending a four-month jail sentence for Jan. 6 defendant Thomas Baranyi, who was within feet of Ashli Babbitt when she was shot near the Speaker’s Lobby.
Baranyi was right outside the House chamber when officers had their guns drawn at the door.
Baranyi, as depicted here, was right next to Babbitt when she tried to climb into the Speaker’s lobby and was shot.
A significant amount of what we saw last night wasn’t new — but it was the first time hearing much of it straight from the mouths of Trump’s advisers themselves. Contending with that will be harder for Jan. 6 apologists than tangling w Dems/Cheney.
And for a significant number of Americans the information *will* be new, and far more potent than it was when we learned it in piecemeal court filings or snippets of video released in Jan. 6 prosecutions. politico.com/news/2022/06/1…
NEWS: The focus of tonight's Jan. 6 hearing will be on "pre-planning" for violence, featuring a video that underscores the uptick in extremist activity following Trump's Dec. 19 call for a "wild" protest.
@jordainc@nicholaswu12 The video, narrated by a select committee investigator, will highlight evidence of Trump's influence on the groups who took his words as a call to action.

DOJ is asking Judge Mehta to quickly enter a protective order to guard against disclosure of evidence in Peter NAVARRO’s case. They say his “extrajudicial” statements to press and on Tucker Carlson’s show reveal his intent to litigate his case through the media.
DOJ says its full case against Navarro includes less than 100 documents:
1) Grand jury info 2) Witness interviews 3) Navarro emails to others (presumably select committee) 4) law enforcement database info 5) Phone/email subscriber info 6) Phone records.
"An order from this Court limiting the [Navarro's] use of discovery only to the prep of his defense is the best means...to ensure the Defendant cannot bolster his improper efforts to keep a running public commentary by publishing [nonpublic] materials." storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.usco…
BREAKING: A federal judge has ordered a new batch of John Eastman's emails delivered to the Jan. 6 select committee, including another one he says is evidence of a likely crime related to the effort to overturn the elecftion.
Details TK
The new batch of emails that Judge David Carter ordered released includes 10 from secretive meetings that Eastman joined with a group led by a "high-profile" leader, strategizing ways to overturn the 2020 election.
There's important language in these charging documents — some of which has been used before. The Proud Boys didn't just take advantage of the mob but "directed, mobilized, and led" it to the barricades and "into the Capitol," DOJ says.
One important new piece of evidence in the indictment is an exchange in which Tarrio and "Person-1" express a belief that if Congress couldn't finish counting electoral votes on Jan. 6, the process woudl be "invalid."
