1/4: Three years ago on #June9th , 1.03 million marched on the streets as one of the last and desperate attempts to stop an Extradition Bill whose passage was virtually certain. No one could ever imagine how much #HK would change forever from that day forward.
2/4: This blossomed into a grand political movement with five demands: withdrawal of the Extradition Bill, ceasing the labelling of protestors as rioters, dropping charges against protesters, conducting independent inquiries into police behaviour, and genuine universal suffrage.
3/4: The Bill would be withdrawn. But Beijing was furious and created a worse legislation in 2020: the national security law. This has been abused to control the narrative to demonise protestors, intensify crackdown, keep police unaccountable and obliterate the electoral system.
4/4: Three years after this all began, the hope of attaining a free Hong Kong seems farther than ever. However, when there is the will, there is always a way. We know that this will still exists, because you are still here standing together with us.
This fight is far from over.

2/n: China will exercise its jurisdiction when the it’s difficult for the SAR to do so due to the complexity in foreign interference; when the SAR is unable to enforce the law or when national security is seriously endangered (i.e. whenever they want cos that’s awfully vague).
3/n: Defednants will be tried in *mainland courts* according to *mainland law* in cases which China has jurisdiction over.
The natsec office set up by the CPG is above the SAR gov. Departments of the SAR gov must facilitate and must not obstruct the work of the natsec office.

2/4: Few expected Hongkongers to unite as one at the frontlines of a global fight against CCP influence. No one anticipated these be-water protests to reshape the future of global political climate. This was the beginning of what has now become a year-long battle.
3/4: Hongkongers shall march on in defiance, while remaining hopeful for liberation. We must meet the increasing suppression with both valour and wisdom. We have sacrificed and bled, but our loss needs to be worth its while.
