So what was Trump's “sophisticated seven-part plan to overturn the 2020 election and prevent the transition of presidential power" to which @RepLizCheney referred?

Thread with background info from source

Part one: Trump repeatedly and aggressively lied to the public falsely claiming the 2020 election was stolen from him.

Part two: Corruption of Justice Dept. --Trump sought to replace the Acting Attorney General with a loyalist so as to weaponize DOJ to use the force of the law to support his election lies.

Part three: Trump corruptly and repeatedly pressured Vice President Mike Pence to violate the U.S. Constitution and the law by refusing to count certified electoral votes on January 6

Part four: Trump improperly pressured state election officials and legislators to change their states' election results and undermine the will of the voters in their states by flipping the state from Biden to Trump.

Part five: Trump’s team, including his lawyers, told GOPers across the country to manufacture fake slates of electors and send those fake elector slates to the U.S. Congress and the National Archives.

Part six: Trump summoned and assembled a mob of supporters to D.C. and directly told them to march to the US Capitol.

Part seven: Despite the violence against police and in the Capitol, Trump ignored myriad pleas for help and folks begging him to take immediate action to stop the violence and tell the MAGA mob to leave the Capitol.

.@RepLizCheney outlined focus of 7 hearings:

Tonight: “never-before-seen footage of the brutal attack on our Capitol."

Hearing 2, June 13 will show how “Trump engaged in a massive effort to spread false and fraudulent information” despite the fact that “Trump and his advisors knew that he had, in fact, lost the election.”
Hearing 3, June 15: How “Trump corruptly planned to replace the Attorney General of the United States so the U.S. Justice Department would spread his false stolen election claims.”

Reminder: In 2019 a NYT investigation found that the Russians had bombed 4 hospitals within 12 hours in Syria.

Last year, Physicians for Human Rights looked at the campaign by Assad/Putin to bomb Syrian hospitals -- over 10 years, 600 attacks on at least 350 separate medical facilities, at least 930 medical personnel killed

Feb 24: A Russian ballistic missile carrying a cluster munition struck just outside a hospital in Vuhledar, a town in the Ukrainian government-controlled Donetska region, per Human Rights Watch

In a different era, a congresswoman shouting and heckling the president at the SOTU while he was talking about US soldiers who died because of exposure to burn pits — about to invoke his own dead son — would be widely condemned across the spectrum. Starting with her caucus leader
I deleted the original tweet and rewrote because Biden's reference to flag-draped coffins of soldiers was NOT about KIA, but rather burn pit victims. Sorry about that! The burn pit issue is very important and we've covered it a great deal:

This was the one Q&A from President Biden’s lunch with news anchors that was on the record:

Q    Mr. President, is there anything that we could -- I’m going to take a shot here and get on the record -- that characterizes your speech tonight, especially as it pertains to Ukraine?
2/ THE PRESIDENT:  The only thing that I think is important that I’m going to talk about -- that I can talk with you because I’ve talked about it before; it’s not news -- is my determination to see to it that the EU, NATO, all of our allies are on the same exact page,…
3/“…in terms of sanctions against Russia and how we deal with the invasion -- and it is an invasion -- of Ukraine.
Because that’s the one thing that gives us power to impose severe consequences on Putin for what he’s done and one of the few things that I’m confident…

I asked @SenSasse about his comments below given suggestions the US *is* sharing intel with Ukraine.

“The question isn’t ‘is the intel moving’ – the question is ‘is the intel moving fast enough to make a difference.’… 1/4
2/ “…Knowing where a Russian tank was ten hours ago isn’t very helpful to Ukrainians in the middle of a firefight right now….
3/ “…The administration says they’re sending intel, and that’s ‘true’ in a nerd-lawyer way — but the intel has to make its way through an overly-papered ‘mother-may-I’ process. Yes, we need to be prudent, but we also need the Ukrainians to be deadly as they protect civilians…
