Georgia received $989 million to help families avoid evictions, but Brian Kemp refuses to deploy the funds.

While rents continue to rise across our great state, struggling workers and at-risk seniors are being left behind — especially in South Georgia.

gpb.org/news/2022/06/0…
What does that look like?

➡️ Orgs are overwhelmed w/ pleas for assistance despite millions sitting unused at DCA.
➡️ Rental assistance applications take ~3 months to process nearly a year after funds arrived.
➡️ In Valdosta alone, 11 people receive eviction notices each day.
Real Georgians are hurting. Elders from Metro Atlanta to Southwest GA are facing evictions from the homes that they have lived in for generations.

The people who are the foundations of our communities need real help now.
#KempDoesntCare that folks are still not getting the support they need. The housing crisis is not simply an Atlanta issue. South Georgia faces crippling rent prices due to a backlogged state system too slow to respond.

That’s time hardworking Georgians don’t have. #OneGeorgia

Happy #Pride Month.

This month – and always – I join as an ally of our LGBTQ+ community in celebrating the unapologetic love, joy & triumph that have built a better state and world for us all.

Whether you're able to openly celebrate or don’t feel safe to do so – you are loved.
As we celebrate our LGBTQ+ friends and family, we must remain vigilant about increasing attacks against the community.

Georgia’s transgender youth are being ostracized following passage of harmful legislation while trans women of color continue to face relentless hate crimes.
I am an LGBTQ+ ally and a woman of faith.

My parents raised me to know that my faith should never be used as a sword to strike down others but instead as a shield to protect.

To our LGBTQ+ community: I will fight to build One Georgia — a state of safety and belonging.

My One Georgia Plan is grounded in the belief that opportunity and success in Georgia shouldn’t be determined by zip code, background or access to power.🧵
Georgians deserve a leader who will tackle the issues that matter most to them — every day.

Someone focused on how we can help our families and our neighbors and work together to create a stronger Georgia. That’s what I’ve done — in office and out — and it’s how I will govern.
The One Georgia Plan lays out how we can serve all Georgians — those doing well and those looking to thrive.

We’ll leverage state and federal resources to invest in economic development, job creation and lower costs for Georgia families without raising taxes.

We know new jobs are good for Georgia.

Let's look at the math for 10 years:
✅ Rivian electric vehicle project: $1.5B for 7,500 jobs = $200K per job
✅ Medicaid expansion: $4B for 60,000 jobs = $67K per job

Medicaid expansion works for 38 states + DC and it will work here.
If Medicaid Expansion works, creates jobs AND supports the health and well-being of our people, why won't Brian Kemp get it done?

Because he just doesn’t care.
Like I did in the legislature, I always show my work:

➡️ Medicaid expansion creates 60K jobs at $67K/position.
➡️ $1,500,000,000 in state and local funded incentives
➡️ Tax abatements/7,500 in likely jobs = $200,000 per job created. Image
