Specific examples offered here include treatment of those on ASD spectrum, individuals experiencing psychosis, weight stigma, and “the ease with which we’ve used bell-curve sorting of individuals to define things as abnormal” [2/n]
The point that “we are swimming in a cultural stream that makes it hard to see and know” is an important one. I think we need to practice humility (as a field) and be intentional + deliberate + active in giving consideration to what we may not be seeing + knowing now [3/n]
Bottom line is a call for sensitivity and openness and willingness to learn + acknowledge wrongdoing around the ways in which we may be currently objectifying + dehumanizing others [4/4] #ABCT #ACBS
