Some things in Maine are surprisingly cheap, like this historic 1870 home — "Southard House" once owned by a shipping magnate — just $725K for 9BR/7BA/7,500 sf. Features intricate woodwork, details, tower turret. #SaturdayNightZillow zillow.com/homedetails/75…?
Fix it up, maybe build your dream house on the lot, use it as a set for a Stephen King movie. Whatever you want. You've got the space to stretch out. Also, there is a random projection TV here they didn't bother throwing out. #SaturdayNightZillow.
This was the former summer estate of the CEO of Hathaway shirts. It's classy. Built by Quakers. 8BR/6BA, 6K+ sf for ... *$989K*. In China, Maine. #SaturdayNightZillow zillow.com/homedetails/70…?

Interesting: I like the TV size & placement. But curiously, the rest of the room is sunken into the floor. (Why??) #SaturdayNightZillow
Ending tonight with a Maine estate I think I've listed before — Merrill House. Don't know why it hasn't sold. $2.35M buys you *126* acres, 16BR, 7BA, and tons of history and romantic settings. #SaturdayNightZillowzillow.com/homedetails/10…?

Nearly all Republicans & some Democrats voted to keep them legal after Sandy Hook.
Below is the 2013 Senate vote on banning new magazines larger than 10 bullets.
It got 46 votes, but just 1 Republican - Mark Kirk.
Needed 60.
The Senate debated the amendment for 2 minutes. Blumenthal argued for the ban on behalf of the mother of Dylan Hockley, a 6-year-old murdered at Newtown. The shooter left the smaller capacity magazines at home, he said. "He knew the larger capacity magazines were more lethal."
Chuck Grassley spoke in opposition to the amendment. He said there was no evidence magazine limits reduced gun deaths, and are "not unusually dangerous"
I wonder how many countries in the world this would still be national headline news for months/years?
DC school shooter was 23 years old; described himself as "an AR-15 aficionado" and a "basedman"; bought an arsenal of guns/ammo legally but modified rifles to become fully automatic; used a baby monitor for video surveillance; posted his exploits to 4chan and Wikipedia.
