I am livid. The hospital has taken my husband off his pulse oximetry (measures the O2 in his blood) & only check it every so often when they do BP.
They want to d/c him tomorrow a.m.--WITHOUT doing the ultrasounds his specialist requested.
I've been talking to him and he's depressed and angry.
Anyone who knows anything about healthcare knows that PATIENT OUTCOMES SUFFER when patients are DEPRESSED, ANGRY, AND ISOLATED FROM LOVED ONES.
Do you HEAR THAT, #BonnieHenry? Your POLICIES are HURTING MY HUSBAND'S HEALTH.
Unvaccinated people in BC don't get the same health care as others. That's the outcome of these policies.
And now apparently some "manager" at the hospital has come by to talk to him about "how can we help?" without, you know, LETTING HIS WIFE COME TO SEE HIM.
They THINK that by d/c him tomorrow a.m. I won't be able to raise a stink.
THEY ARE WRONG.
You have awakened the beast. "We're just doing our job" won't protect you.
Worth noting that I was told last night I "should call Admin on Monday morning" regarding all this.
Now they're discharging him Monday morning. HMM. I WONDER IF THERE'S ANY CONNECTION.
My husband isn't the type to like it when I make a fuss about things. He's very OPSEC about his identity and doesn't attention. But I told him, I'm making a fuss. And he said: "I expect you to. This is when we make waves."
So I have a battle plan, and I'm enacting it. More details as I move forward.
But I want the world to know: in BC, unvaccinated people are second class citizens. We don't get the same health care as the jabbed.
It occurs to me that when certain folks say "We support a woman's right to choose" they're leaving off the last word in the sentence.
They support a woman's right to choose ABORTION. Not a woman's right to choose pregnancy & motherhood.
So many women are NOT free to choose pregnancy and motherhood but bring it up with a "pro-choice" person & watch them change the subject or worse, say the quiet part out loud. The part that shows their true colours: they don't care about choice. They just want more abortions.
I used to consider myself "pro-choice" & I am still PRO CHOICE in that I believe that bodily autonomy is an ABSOLUTE. Even if the decisions others make with their bodies are abhorrent to me. Not my body. Not my choice.
