A digital-first education focused on technology and business is set to begin next school year.
Mapúa Malayan Digital College Chief Learning Officer Derrick Latreille tells us how this prepares students in the field on #TheFinalWord with @RicoHizon | LIVE bit.ly/3QbVvAG
Latreille on offering online learning setup: We began doing the research before the pandemic on how to improve and how to reach new part of the market, but the pandemic helped open minds to it
Latreille: It was really understanding our market and looking closely how they use the internet, their access to internet, access to tools and making sure its an accessible tool
Latreille: In our case, we’re going digital first. You’ll meet your professors digitally… It’s a meeting where they’re going to be facilitating projects, they’re going to mentor you, coach you. That’s done digitally. It's done in large, small groups, individually.
Latreille: Everything you need to execute your classes… in on demand.
Latreille says they will also establish learning hubs across the country starting in Ayala malls in QC and Bacolod where students can collaborate and use different facilities.
Latreille says in demand courses like those in business and IT will be available.
Latreille: With our scholarships, we can get anyone started at under ₱60,000 per year.
