Unfortunately there is still a wrong-headed belief that Scotland is 'owned by' or is a 'colony of' England and therefore Westminster has to give permission for Scotland to become independent. This is not the case - the relationship between Scotland & England is a treaty.
Scots themselves can make the choice to disolve that treaty; it is a unilateral decision and not dependent on any permission for the other sigantory of the treaty. Scot law was not subsumed within English law and neither is it overwritten by English law.
English law can't be used to make a Scottish vote ratified by Scots law illegal.
Scotland is not 'leaving the UK', it is desolving the treaty between Scotland and England. #YesScots
It astounds me that even Indy supporting Scots are comfortable considering the idea that voting is illegal and that democracy can be thrown aside. WTF. There can be no throwing aside of the democratic wishes of the majority of Scot’s. Get a grip.
Have you decided you are comfortable with fascism/totalitarianism? This indicates a lack of confidence. It’s the same 300 yr old cringe. Stand up. You are adults. This your country. Democracy must and will prevail. And it must be respected. #YesScots
