tbh the “feminism isn’t about hating men” brand of feminism was always going to go down in flames. that’s what happens when you prioritize marketability/image over actual progress.
so-called feminists too busy with convincing men they’re worthy of human rights to actually fight for said rights.
not to go on about #that trial but it rlly brought to the surface how badly women crave male approval. throwing a female victim of DV under the bus to show men that they’re one of the good, rational ones who support “male victims” (when men will never do that for female victims)
if we can’t unapologetically stand by other women for fear of being deemed hysterical, irrational, and “man-hating” then what real solidarity is there? i don’t care if men think i’m a bitter, man-hating feminist. i will never prioritize their image of me over my actual values ?
also reminds me of the arguments for abortion some feminists make that center cases of rape/incest. like, why reduce yourself to begging for sympathy in order to be granted human rights. you don’t have to be a perfect, violated victim in order to be deemed a human being w/ rights
you don’t have to be likeable to deserve human rights. women who are seen as ~unlikeable~ (like AH) still deserve our full support. women who are “irresponsible” (get pregnant after a one night stand, etc) still deserve access to abortion.
im just tired of women appealing to patriarchal stereotypes and ideas of what we should be in order to negotiate our human rights. i need us to stop caring so much about what men think of us.
anyway. ik this is all over the place & maybe it doesn’t make sense but i’m a little drunk and in my feelings just ignore me <3

being beaten & raped is a violation of a woman’s body. subsequently, being forced to testify in detail about said violation to your body in front of your abuser, a hostile in-person audience, & cameras streaming to the world, is a violation of a woman’s right to dignity & privacy
i cannot stand the superiority complexes & indifferent attitudes so many people have adopted in response to that trial. if you cannot see how a woman being re-traumatized through the legal system is a women’s rights issue,
if you cannot connect the dots as to how the widespread misogynistic response to that trial on social media is a women’s rights issue & not merely ~celebrity drama~, + how it all ties into what’s happening today w/ roe, then u are not as insightful or intelligent as u think u are
