Did the Ukrainians also have intel about the looming ammo shortage beforehand? Did seem like they were putting a fair bit more effort targeting Russian ammo dumps over the past week
Back to Zymogorye (Zymohir'ya): Sentinel imagery from yesterday (2nd and 3rd images here) showing huge fire at exactly where FIRMS pinpointed it. Additional fires/hotspots (red) visible on Short Wave Infra Red (SWIR) nearby possibly from rockets launching after cooking off
Revisiting the sites at Zymogorye (Zymohir'ya) and Rodakove (Rodakovo) that were struck a couple of days back. It's no exaggeration to say both targets were obliterated by whatever blew up and burned after the suspected Ukrainian long-range strikes
FIRMS has noted another big fire north of the famous Chernobaevka Airport near Kherson. Possible geolocation to this group of buildings circled (46.7028, 32.5256), dropped pin marks location where photo of smoke was taken .@GeoConfirmed
Note the popping sounds. Means another Russian ammo dump ate rocket(s). World’s smallest violin plays
Yes there was one at Melitopol near the airfield yesterday. Detonations of several incoming munitions and subsequent big fire on video, but AFAIK there were no secondary detonations to indicate it was an ammo storage hit
Artillery shells scattered all over the ground at the destroyed facility at Zymogorye (Zymohir'ya), confirming it was an ammo dump that was hit by Ukrainian HIMARS
Both work relatively similarly, the difference being SMART 155 submunitions deploy parachutes before searching for targets while BONUS submunitions deploy winglets
At the 3 second mark of the video, you can see a submunition exploding to deploy its EFP payload (yellow circle) and the target exploding below as it was hit (red circle)
Also said this then. Any training on artillery and/or MLRS/HIMARS will not be for newbies out of basic, but to experienced arty guys with 8 years of institutional knowledge of arty use in combat
Looks like the Russians were aiming the the (Kredmash) factory at Kremenchuk when the 1st of two of their shitty Kh-22 missiles hit the mall while the 2nd struck the fringes of their target
See clip from 0.33-0.55. Geolocation coming up 1/x
Large fire following an alleged Ukrainian strike on a Russian ammo storage geolocated to Svatove, Luhansk Oblast. Yellow line = camera line of sight, Red X = suspected target (49.39344, 38.17779) .@GeoConfirmed
Going closer the vegetation and patch of roof with a different colour on the building in the foreground can be seen
FWIW the target is within HIMARS and Tochka-U range from, say, Slovyansk
