In 2015, I tried to warn Nairalanders about PMB's red flags. I dug up information about his involvement in the 1966 anti-Igbo coup (ethnocentrism with genocidal potential), his sending of soldiers into markets to whip prices down (poor understanding of economics), /1
his decree 4 which criminalized criticising govt officials even truthfully (low tolerance for free speech), and his stubborn authoritarian approach to govt. People didn't care because they felt that he couldn't possibly be worse than Goodluck Jonathan. The rest is history. /2
PMB has manifested all of the red flags.
He allowed and defended the massacre of Shiites (genocidal potential). He allowed killer herdsmen and Fulani terrorists, and bandits to wreck havoc all over the country with impunity because he sees them as his brothers (ethnocentrism). /3
He banned a social media platform #TwitterBan for months depriving millions of Nigerians of their freedom of expression & their business platform and sent soldiers to kill protesters (low tolerance for free speech).
He closed our borders for a whole year thinking it would.../4
help farmers, adopted a forex policy that allowed the gap between the official and true exchange rate to widen, which amounts to subsidising importation and penalising exportation, and making round-tripping more profitable than ever for corrupt insiders, has refused to drop.../5
the subsidy on petrol, which all economists have said that we can't afford (poor understanding of economics).
We shouldn't disregard the red flags of our favourite candidates this time. We shouldn't assume that things can't get worse. We should scrutinise everyone.

My life hasn't been the same since I read about Peter Obi's N250m money laundering scandal.
Packing large sums of money into suitcases & sneaking them around is associated with crime.
I can't imagine any next gen politician stooping that low. Soludo, NOI, etc would NEVER do that.
"Gov Obi stated that the money found in the vehicles belongs to Anambra State & was meant for payment to a contractors who wanted cash.
When asked why he should pay such a huge amount of money in cash instead of draft or cheque, the Gov couldn't give a reasonable answer."Vanguard
"Nigeria: APGA Disowns Governor Obi Over N250 Million Scam
The State chapter's chairman Dr. Okey Umeano, said in a statement yesterday in Abuja that Governor Peter Obi is on his own in the 250 million naira money laundering crisis rocking his government." allafrica.com/stories/200910…
