Imagine this: a man is about to cross state lines when he’s pulled over. His blood is tested. It’s discovered that he’s a match for a kidney or liver transplant. He is then taken to a facility where he is told surgeons will extract a kidney or part of his liver 1/
But the man says he doesn’t want to surrender part of his body. The surgery comes with risks, too. What if it goes wrong. Why should he have to make this sacrifice for a stranger’s life?
He is then told that all life is sacred and that if he says no, he will be imprisoned 2/
“All life is precious,” the official tells the man. “If you don’t save this life, you’re a murderer and will be tried as such.”
If you think this scenario is more ridiculous than denying women abortion rights, I want to know why.
And if your answer is “women choose to have sex,” explain to me why a man who chooses to have sex isn’t forced to have a vasectomy or hell, donate his kidney to someone to make up for the fact that he’s not forced to CARRY A FETUS FOR NINE MONTHS
To the wonderful men claiming it’s not the same because a woman “doesn’t have to sacrifice part of her body” in the pregnancy scenario, I say this:
Wow, this really blew up. While you’re here, check this out:
