This is George Ramogi who was popularly known as Omogi wuod Weta. For those who didn't get to see and/or meet him, you must have heard that Omogi Jaweta was an educated musician whose command of both Swahili and English languages was good.
Ramogi was born in the year 1945 in Kendu-bay (Rakwaro Kamwala) and died in the year 1997. Omogi wuod Weta composed many songs, some of them very emotional tributes to the departed ones like ywak CM Kodhek, Tom Mboya and Ajali ya Sondu.
Unlike many Luo bands whose songs climaxes were dorminated by chants and Pakruok, Ramogi chose a different path.
His songs climaxes have less pakruok. He dedicates this part to pure instrumental harmonization as Omogi himself plays lead guitar like the world is coming to an end!
His band members were George ojijo who was very talented composer and guitarist. , John yogo, John Kengo and the late Leonard Omedo, very able composer and bassist, they together formed Luo sweet band. They later choose a name with international appeal.
That was the birth of continental kilo Jazz band now popularly known as CK "dumbe dumbe" jazz band. It's not easy to maintain the same artist for long, however George was interesting artist managed to keep George Ojijo, John Yogo, Paul orwa, Joshua Ondeng and John Osumba.

STORY TIME 💖✊ by Olima
THE STORY BEHIND THE PHRASE, "IBIRO NENO GIMA OLUERU NONENO YENGA"
Olueru had had a quarrel with his wife and what followed was Olueru Wuod Sakwa Bondo, suspending mercy heavily on the wife.
The then "jofwambo and keyo" claimed that its Olueru who had intentionally slapped the wife, a point that Olueru detested bitterly claiming its the wife's cheeks that had moved so close to his hands.
The wife, enraged and feeling disrespected, left for her Father's lands of Yenga (In Ugenya I believe so). She reported the matter to her brothers and clansmen who not only burnt with fury, but also wished to skin Olueru alive.
Sad History of the 1960s decade.
The factional rivalry in the ruling party KANU placed two leading Luo politicians Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and Tom Mboya in opposing camps. Tom Mboya and his centre right allies included Omolo Agar, Lawrence Sagini, Jomo Kenyatta,
leading Kiambu politicians Mbiyu koinange, Njoroge Mungai and Attorney General Charles Njonjo. They were pro-, capitalist and Conservative, preferring little or no radical change.
The centre left were led by firebrand radical politicians who were pro - socialist and wanted far reaching change in the post independence government. They included Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Bildad Kaggia, Achieng Oneko, JM. Karriuki among others.
No one knows the names of birds and insects in Dholuo language than Olima Anditi, a legendary guitarist of all time who was blind since his childhood.
Olima Anditi is a legend worth writing about. Mark you, uncle Google knows about him. (Thread)
Like most of you, I came to know this legend through his charming and undeniable piece of art; Winy Neno.
The very first words of this song are “Regina nyar Wachaga imiya tich matek ahinya mar penjo Ruoth Nyasaye. Koro takia ng’a ibiro penji ekindwa gi Ruth Nyasaye, Yesu, kod Malaika”
I have observed that most songs addressing deeply sad situations and near life resignations don't have climax. Is it by coincidence or could there be solid reasons? (thread)
