This teen hockey player dreamed of playing pro hockey.

Instead, he was arrested at gunpoint after years of relentless bullying at Kitchener’s Victus Academy, lawsuit alleges.

The then 14-year-old hockey player, struggling with relentless bullying by teammates on his high school team, was on his way to an appointment with a sports psychologist when he was arrested.

DeCaluwe said he had no idea why he had been arrested.

The family would later learn that a social media post made by someone else using DeCaluwe’s name, suggested he was planning to kill classmates with firearms at Victus Academy, according to allegations in a lawsuit filed by the DeCaluwes.

Victus Academy is a private school in Kitchener that specializes in training young hockey players.

That post, the DeCaluwes allege, was the result of years-long harassment by teammates, allowed to happen by academy staff pervaded by a toxic culture.

The family's $5.5-million lawsuit alleges the behaviour of the school and three student hockey players had a “profound psychological impact” on his well being and his goal of playing professional hockey.

In a statement, Victus Academy President Matthew Schmidt said the school will “vigorously defend” itself against the lawsuit.

Using the state-of-the-art tracker he’d installed, this Toronto car owner precisely located his Ford F-150 Raptor pickup while on the phone to Toronto police.

The police did not show up.

Adam Westland’s, 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor pickup was his personal vehicle.

When his wife saw their parking spot empty in December, he called police.

A dispatcher came on the line, asking him the nature of his emergency.
