1) In Feb, the Gov met with unions and said they want to "reset" negotiations and provide an independent arbitrator - and they'll send us a proposal.
3 days later they filed court action against unions.
6 days later they shut down the rail system and tried to blame unions.
2) In May, the Gov committed to safety improvements to new intercity trains in exchange for certain union actions.
Unions agreed.
Two weeks later the NSW Gov reneged on their commitment despite unions following through on our side of the deal.
3) On Wednesday last week, the Gov agreed to a deed to fix the intercity trains.
Unions asked to make it an enforceable deed. The Gov refuses to sign it.
4) So now we come to last Friday. Gov launches massive PR campaign saying they have put a deal to unions to end the disputes, and how generous they are for "compromising" on intercity train dispute.
The "deal" was a verbal promise. When Unions ask Gov to sign it, they refuse.
5) Now today, story in the Tele saying the NSW Gov is "fed up" with unions holding people "to ransom" and they will take court action to terminate workers right to industrial action.
Accompanied by op-ed from the Premier himself.
But hang on - did they manufacture this outcome?
6) The Gov never intended to do a deal with unions. They reneged on nearly every promise - this thread only covers the biggest. (We have the 'receipts' from every time they did this.)
A deliberate campaign against workers.
They left workers with no choice but to strike.
7) And now when unions strike they say we're playing politics? That the strikes are somehow to help Labor?
Read this timeline and tell us who is playing rotten, lying, anti-worker politics?
The NSW Gov and Premier Perrottet are gaslighting workers, unions, the public and media.

Today we launched a report with the McKell institute that details the massive failings of the NSW Government’s workers comp scheme. The findings are incredibly alarming. Ten years on, the key objectives pursued in the workers’ compensation reforms of 2012 have not been met.
Workers’ compensation claims were declining from 2010 but have flatlined since the 2012 reforms, with approximately 100,000 claims each year.
Average Workers’ Compensation premiums have declined every year since 2006-07 and have not increased, regardless of the financial viability of the Scheme before or after the 2012 reforms.
How did we come to the NSW Government shutting down Sydney Trains and locking out rail workers?
Here's a quick recap:
Tue 15th Feb – NSW Transport Management meets with unions and promises to provide an offer on unions priority claims by Thursday 17th Feb.
Thu 17th Feb – Unions write to Transport for an update on their offer. At 10:30PM that night, unions receive a letter from the Crown Solicitors Office demanding unions cease all industrial actions. The rail system was operating while low-level industrial actions were underway.
Fri 18th Feb – Crown Solicitors Office files application in Fair Work Commission to terminate workers right to take industrial action.
