Do you know who the rich are?

I spent a lot of time at university resenting my classmates and even friends for not having to work and being able to do afford unpaid internships.

It took ten years for me to learn that they're not even close to being rich.

They then pass these assets, companies, offshore accounts on to their children.

The rich don't bat an eye at spending more than the average UK salary on school fees for one kid. Chickenfeed, right?

My friends whose families remortgaged houses to pay for their children to go to fee-paying school aren't the rich.

The rich are those who feel so entitled to wealth and making more of it that they don't even register how much something costs.

And this isn't even the tip of the iceberg. Boris is right, £250K is chickenfeed compared to what the real wealthy elite are hoarding.

Their wealth isn't income. They're not working. It's assets, companies, money sitting in accounts "earning" interest.

Tax. It. All.

But we can't, we're too busy hating the "middle class" for not struggling as hard as us, while unironically accusing those on "benefits" (who very likely also have a full time job) of stealing from us.

Yet we think the rich "worked hard" for the wealth they were born into.

Taxes for the rich:

Income tax for the top 1% (not top 5%, which includes those earning £80K a year).

Tax wealth itself (the value of all the things someone owns).

Increase nat. insurance payments for those in the top 1% wealth (not just income) bracket.
