High power rifle is a loaded term and misinformation about the Highland Park mass shooting.

There is no such thing as a “high power rifle.”

But when asked by a reporter what gun was used in the horrific mass murder in Highland Park, the sheriff’s spokesman answered, “Right now we’re saying it’s a high power rifle.” 

The liberal media reported this as fact.

Guns bought by Highland Park shooter, per sheriff spokesman :

1. KelTech sub 200 rifle chambered to fire pistol cartridges

2. Remington 700 rifle (didn’t give caliber)

3. Shotgun

4. Glock 43X handgun

NONE OF THESE ARE AR-15

Highland Park sheriff spokesman said Crimo bought four guns at the press conference, but didn’t say on camera that the rifle used and left at the parade shooting was a 5th gun — a Smith & Wesson M&P 15.

Prosecutors say Crimo used a Smith & Wesson M&P rifle.

That is an AR-15 style firearm.

It shoots 5.56mm or .223 rounds and has a muzzle velocity of about 2,900 fps.

IT IS NOT A “HIGH POWER RIFLE.”

What is a high power rifle?

“There is no objective standard as to what is considered a ‘high-powered’ versus a ‘low-powered" rifle.”

Why did the Highland Park sheriff office say it was a “high power rifle”?

“He used it because he is an anti-gun Democrat would be my guess. Chances are he’s following the agenda and using the terminology of the people he answers to,” former LEO @Guns_Gadgets told me.
