More fun with #dalle creating a giant vibrant cityscape composite of 117 images with watercolor themes. Plus a short thread on how it was made. It was really fun to see this come alive. 1/6
Initial images were generated using the simple prompt, “isometric watercolor city” and the occasional “bridge” or “river” included for a little variety. DALL·E generates 1024x1024 images so they were arranged on a 256-pixel grid with gaps to be filled in. 2/6
Since the original prompt only produced vignettes, each image was re-uploaded, white areas were erased, and the same prompt was used to fill in the erased areas. 3/6
Spaces between corners were then filled in by uploading crops of them that included portions of the initial images so DALL·E could create seamless transitions between them using the original prompt. 4/6
Finally, remaining gaps were filled in using the same technique of uploading crops with portions of surrounding images—generating seamless transitions between all images and avoiding long repeating patterns that can happen when generating images in a sequence. 5/6
The final image was compiled in InDesign and has a lot of fun details to explore. Original high-res image (58MB, 10240x7168) available at c82.net/images/dalle/c…. 6/6
