A year ago today, scores of vaccinated people spread Covid-19 to each other at several events on Cape Cod, proving that the mRNA vaccines don't stop onward transmission & that the vaxxed carry comparable viral loads. By July 30, even the CDC admitted this. cnbc.com/2021/07/30/cdc…
This was ignored by virtually all institutions, which soon mandated the jab for youth sports, universities, employment & travel. Passports were required for restaurants, gyms, events & shops, creating a 2-tiered society. People were coerced into the vax. Some were harmed or died.
There are still people today who are barred from their careers, including doctors & nurses. Hubris, along with a complex intertwining of morality with the jab, have meant that many organizations & gov'ts refuse to walk back their policies, while some threaten to bring them back.
None of this "followed the science". It has been misinformation at best & very likely disinformation. Doctors & scientists who challenged the narrative on mandates or lockdowns were disciplined or shamed. Only now is the truth slowly being acknowledged.

Group-level psychological phenomena were evidently at play over the last 2+ years, but some who pushed these unprecedented, destructive & even deadly policies clearly knew what they were doing. As the truth & consequences become more evident, expect unrest.

To have any hope of maintaining our institutions, principled, courageous leaders need to emerge quickly—on backbenches, boards, in media. Wrongdoers must be held accountable within the parameters of the rule of law & norms that keep us civilized must be restored & recommitted to.
