Thanks to Cheryl & Scott from London, Ontario for restoring my faith in people. Sat next to them today on my flight from YVR to Toronto. Upon arrival I found out that @WestJet had cancelled my connecting flight to London (not surprised with what went on today but still 🤬)…
I asked if they were on that same canceled flight that was rescheduled for tomorrow morning (again 😡) & they said no, they were driving home to London. Then they asked me if I wanted to ride with them instead of staying the night in Toronto.
I didn’t know what to say…
I was speechless. Two people, strangers until today, who I spoke with for just a few minutes on a 4 hour flight offering me, a complete stranger, a ride with them to London so I didn’t have to go through the hassle of staying in T.O. & flying out tomorrow…
I gladly accepted their offer and shared a memorable two hour drive, sharing stories about our travels, family, career and hopes for our kids among other topics.
Cheryl & Scott are no longer strangers, they are new friends who didn’t hesitate to help a fellow traveller…
They said that they had been helped in the same way more than once over the years and always try to Pay It Forward when they can.
I offered to pay them, send them out for a nice dinner somewhere but they wouldn’t have it…
I was safely & conveniently dropped off at my hotel, which was nowhere near where they lived in London, we exchanged our contact info so when they came back to Vancouver I would have a pair of @Canucks tickets waiting for them, then they waved goodbye…
Thanks Cheryl & Scott, I am truly #GRATEFUL and I will be sure to #PayItForward on my end in the future 🙏
