My best friend Congressman James Clyburn and I were elected in the same election cycle in 1993. Congressman Clyburn and I share history growing up as a Black man in the Jim crow south. (1/3) 
Our mission and goal have always been to fight for: voting rights, affordable health care, and historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). We have sworn an oath to our constituents and have upheld it for 29 years. (2/3)
