The 13th leg of the ongoing @SafaricomPLC Golf ⛳️ Tour will be held at Vet Lab Sports Club @vetlabsc this weekend with over 350 junior and senior golfers set to take on the 18-hole course. - @SafaricomNews

The tournament comes just one week after Lieutenant Colonel Michael Mulwa won the 12th leg held at Kenya Airforce Base in Eastleigh. #SafaricomGolfTour #EveryShotIsAnOpportunity

Last weekend’s action also featured a golf outreach programme dubbed “Golf Mataani” where youngsters from the nearby Mathare area got a chance to learn about the game.
This weekend’s tournament will see the senior golfers take the course today while Sunday’s event will feature the junior competition, which will run alongside the golf clinics to be held at the same facility, who's is to introduce young and aspiring golfers to the sport.
Since the inaugural #SafaricomGolfTour in January, the series has attracted over 7,000 participants who have taken part in various tournaments, junior clinics and outreach programmes. #EveryShotIsAnOpportunity
After @vetlabsc, the tour heads to Royal Golf Club on 30th and 31st July for the final preliminary round and culminates with the Grand Finale scheduled for 6th August in @VipingoRidge, Kilifi County.
As part of growing the sport among junior players in the country, @SafaricomPLC has partnered with the Junior Golf Foundation @JGFKenya to tap and nurture young talent. The juniors can register with the JGF for KES.1,000, which grants them access to play at any golf club in Kenya

Jomo Kenyatta had a special relationship with Haile Selassie. This had led to the signing of a defence pact between Kenya and Ethiopia, purposely to counter the Republic of Somalia’s expansionist schemes.
Somalia had vowed to annex Kenya’s North-Eastern Province and Ethiopia’s Ogaden region. This led to the infamous shifta war that took place between 1963 and 1968. Kenya won the battle to protect its borders.

WHO in partnership with @gavi, the Vaccine Alliance have rolled out one-of-a-kind malaria vaccine financing in Africa. - @MaudhuiHouse
The program has seen Gavi commit Kes18.5B for the 2022–2025 period, as well as $56M investment through a “de-risk” agreement with medicine maker GlaxoSmithKline (GSK )and innovative financing partner, MedAccess.
This comes just a month after the European Commission (EC) donated $10.47M to the continent to aid in the development of a vaccine targeted at preventing placental malaria.

In our society there are many brilliant people who have sadly not been able to get the chance to achieve their potential and end up wasting away in the towns and villages. - @HapaKenya
There is a myriad of reasons why this happens but for the most part it has been due to lack of opportunities brought about by financial constraints.
We find that a lot of bright students from poor backgrounds at times find themselves not being able to progress beyond high school due to lack of finances.

Former cabinet minister and KANU Secretary General John Joseph Kamotho’s widow has received court’s nod to sell his Sh82M Nairobi house to raise money for her upkeep and medical expenses, pending determination of a family dispute over control of his wealth. - @NationAfrica
Justice Aggrey Muchelule, however, ordered that half of the sale proceeds be shared equally among the four children of the late politician while the other half go to the widow, Ms Eunice Wambui.
Apart from medical expenses, the widow told court the intended sale of the property in question, aka Town House No.7 Jadenville Country Homes, was to pay her workers, her upkeep, settle security, utility bills and to buy a specialized vehicle costing about Sh2,68M.

Preparations for the upcoming elections were Thursday thrown into confusion after @KRA_Customs officials at JKIA detained suspicious election material from a foreigner who had just arrived in the country. - @NationAfrica
Venezuelan Comarco Gregoria had just landed from London, and while being cleared at 12pm, airport officials noticed, through screening machines, that he had items resembling stickers belonging to @IEBCKenya in his luggage.
He was immediately arrested and taken to the JKIA police station for questioning and for his luggage to be searched further.
