It was a nostalgia filled evening yesterday at the Freedom Square as we held our Alumni Homecoming Dinner in celebration of #MakerereAt100.
Incase you missed it, here are the key highlights ๐๐พ๐งต
In her opening remarks, The Chairperson of the University Council, Mrs. @MagaraLorna reminded us that this was an evening of celebrating those memories, rekindling friendships and establishing new networks.
The Chancellor, Prof. Ezra Suruma tasked the institution to show its relevance & capacity to reach the people of Uganda by ensuring the knowledge and the research we do benefits the ordinary citizen. #MakerereAt100
.@ProfNawangwe on his part walked the audience through the history of the University. He mentioned that the institution opened its gates to the first 14 students in January 1922, the fee was 60 shillings, for day scholars and there were no resident students then. #MakerereAt100
Special thanks go to the dayโs MC, @kasyate who not only smoothly carried us through the dayโs program, but also cracked our ribs all evening. #MakerereAt100
We thank each one of our alumni who made time to come rekindle their university days with us. We invite you to continue moving with us on this journey as we celebrate #MakerereAt100.

Dear Gallant Makerereans, the Official Supplier of gowns for students graduating next week informed Management at the last minute that he was experiencing challenges supplying all graduation gowns on time. His actions are a breach of contract.
Management has put in place emergency measures to ensure that gowns for all graduands are ready by the day they attend the ceremony. By tomorrow Sunday 12th afternoon all graduands for 14th and 15th January should receive their gowns.
The rest of the graduands will collect their gowns according to a schedule to be issued by the Academic Registrar tomorrow.
