Hawks gets hit by a Quirk that leaves him temporarily blind, and he somehow ends up in the LOV's care. He's not bothered by his lack of sight; his feathers keep him alert to everything happening in the room, and he'd already been assured it would return within
a few hours. Currently, the only people with him are Dabi- who brought him in the first place- Toga, and Twice.
"We should play a game!" Toga said, unnerved by Hawks' vacant stare and silence. He felt her move, until she was standing in front of him. "Your hands, please."
Skeptical, Hawks gave them to her, and heard a small shuffle, before she laid something in his hand.
"What's this?" She asked.
Hawks felt it, felt smooth plastic and bumps and weird, moveable, rubber coated nubs.
"Shigaraki's controller."
"Right! What's this?" The controller
is whisked away and replaced. Amused, Hawks indulges her, feeling along the new item. It's hard, and ovalish in shape. There's interesting grooves that his fingers trace.
"One of Compress' masks?" He guesses.
"Yeah! Wow, you're good. Okay, what about this?"
The mask is gone, and there's a pause, before she guides his hand to press against flesh. There's a puff of amused laughter on his thumb as he feels a stubbled cheek.
"This is a Twice." Hawks laughs.
"Errnt! Wrong! Totally got it, dude." Twice chortles, pulling away.
Beside him, Hawks feels Dabi stand up and walk away. His feathers quiver, sensing him head towards the kitchen.
"Okay, what about this?" Toga hands him something else. It's a book, one of Spinner's manga.
Then it's a knife, a shot glass, and a bottle of cinnamon. Finally, Hawks
huffs.
"Okay, I'm bored."
"No, no, one more! It's fun to watch you!" Toga pleads. Hawks sighs.
"One more." He agrees, holding out his hands.
The next thing to touch his fingers is familiar. He knows it instantly, he heard him come back from the kitchen, but he takes his time
feeling over the texture in his hands anyways. His fingertips feel over the wrinkled, leathery, warm skin of scars, and the metallic shocks of staples. He traces down a straight nose bridge, taps the trio of piercings on one side. He feels gaunt cheekbones, sunken eyes and the
scars below them, thin brows. Spiky, slightly greasy hair. His hands shift back down to trace mishaped, burned ears and their multitude of piercings, feeling where earlobes were not. His thumbs slowly traced mismatched lips.
"I know you." Hawks whispers,
golden eyes glittering with mischief, with affection he didn't realize he was showing, "I'd know you blind, deaf, or dead."
The figure before him made no sound as his hands settled on petting sharp jawlines. Only the slightest shuffle, and then Hawks felt something new.
A bony hand on his knee, a forewarning, before those mismatched lips were softly pressed to his.
"Blind, deaf, or dead." A grumbly voice murmured.
When Hawks' eyesight did return, a few short hours later, the first thing he saw was Dabi's face, looking down at him from where he had his head in the villain's lap.
"I see you." Hawks said.
"I see you, too, birdie." And Hawks saw the way he tried and failed to hide a smile.

Dabi had been hungry before. He was no stranger to an empty stomach, to long, cold nights without a bite to eat. But this... This wasn't hunger, it was /starvation./
It gnawed at his belly, clawed up his throat and left him gasping, dizzy, clutching the couch as he tried not to
fall to his knees.
"You- you feel this- constantly?" He croaked, his free hand pressed to a wailing stomach.
"Pretty much." Toga was sat on the coffee table, watching blue sparks dance between her fingers.
After fleeing a fight that had left them with each other's Quirks, the two
God. I want more fics of #hawks struggling to bond with the League. Not even in a "for the mission" way but a "I understand them, I want to be a part of their crazy family" way. With Dabi it's easy, but the rest...
He fucks up with Spinner. He tries to bond over the fact they're both mutants, not realizing that's a sore subject for Spinner. And if easy going Spinner doesn't want anything to do with him? The rest of the League don't want him either.
So he tries again, tries to get close to Toga. Asks her this time, what she's into, but he reacts a bit too visibly when she says she likes stalking kids from 1A, and she shuts him down. Crap. He tries with Compress and with Twice, and fucks up there, too.
