Bey’s fifth studio album, “Beyoncé,” marked a significant shift in the artist’s lyrical content – six of the album’s 14 tracks came with explicit-content labels attached while her previous four albums had no explicit tracks.

The 2016 album, “Lemonade,” marked an even larger shift when the artist included more explicit than non-explicit songs on LP’s tracklist – seven of the album’s 13 tracks.

Beyoncé’s shift to more sultry lyrics doesn’t seem to bother her fans though – half of the artist’s 10 most popular songs on Spotify come with an explicit label.

We may not know exactly what Queen B has in store for us with “Renaissance,” but her previous work has shown us an artist who, though adapting and changing, consistently produces music we keep coming back to.
