A- is gotten from contaminated food/water
B- is gotten from contact with blood, semen, vaginal secretion.
C- is gotten from same route as B

E- from contaminated water/food
D can't multiply if B is not present already

There are vaccines now for types A and B, no vaccines yet for C, D and E

People living with Diabetes should NEVER WALK BAREFOOT EVEN IN THEIR HOMES. Thread.

Diabetes destroys the nerves in the foot which can lead to decreased sensations, so they don't know they may be injured

It also destroys arteries which affects Oxygen delivery needed for healing
The combination of reduced oxygen and increased blood sugar creates an environment that makes it difficult for wounds to heal

These wounds become infected because the high sugar encourages germs to grow

All these may lead to that part of the foot dying and needing to be cut off
They can help their foot by;

Checking for cuts or bruises EVERY DAY

NEVER wash the foot in HOT WATER

Never wear tight shoes

Walk often

Cut your toe nails smoothly and remove any sharp edges

Ask your doctor to look at it every time you visit the hospital

Take your drugs

I almost lost my business mail account because my bank card stopped working.

My friend can't pay for Facebook ads with his current card anymore.

My content writer can't get icloud with her current bank card. This is a mess we're in. In a world that's supposed to be connected
Only a few days ago, platforms that Nigerians like you and I were using for international transactions got shut down. Online businesses are suffering.

We deserve kudos for the amount of hoops we're meant to jump through... just to have a decent chance at normalcy.
Anyhow sha, my new plug is @chippercashapp and it might help someone out there. Moved my transactions to a USD card I created in minutes and every transaction I run with it, I get 5% back. Win win.

I woke this morning and remembered the day I delivered a baby in the staircase of a building

I came to visit a friend in his hospital, the hospital was on the last floor. I ran up the stairs only to be slowed down by this woman in front of me, slowly climbing the staircase
A bag was on the steps behind her

Ma, is everything alright?

She shook her head and gripped the staircase hard. I could see she was in excruciating pain.

I noticed she was pregnant! It made sense now!

Why was she alone? Who was with her?
The bag was her delivery materials
She tried putting one more step, it wasn't working.
Then she screamed "O na abia!"

It could only mean one thing, the baby is here!

I screamed at the top of my voice! Help! Staircase!!!!

She sat on the steps, legs wide open.

WARNING!

If you have a newborn baby, avoid camphor around them and even on their clothes

Camphor is linked to jaundice in some newborn babies

Jaundice is yellow coloration of their skin and eyes because of overproduction of bilirubin. It can cause brain damage. How?

Thread
Our red cells contain hemoglobin, this is what helps carry the oxygen from your lungs to other places

When red blood cells are broken down, this haemoglobin is broken down to bilirubin

When this gets to the liver, they are combined with a compound that makes them less harmful
Some babies, mostly male babies may lack an enzyme called G6PD, this deficiency is inherited and common in Africans

It helps protect the red cells from damage and when it's lacking, the cells break down easily. Exposing them to camphor can rapidly breakdown their blood cells

Drinking water is good, but if you drink unclean water, you could get stomach ulcers.

Many people think that fasting or not eating enough causes stomach ulcer, but it's either bad water or abusing drugs like Ibuprofen in the class of NSAIDS that caused theirs

Let me explain:
Your stomach secretes an acid known as gastric acid with a pH of less than 3.5 enough to burn through your skin, why doesnt this burn your stomach?

This is because your stomach is protected by a sheet of mucus like substance that protects it from being destroyed by this acid
When you get infected with H Pylori, it can survive the harsh environment of the stomach by netutralizing the acid around it

It is able to colonise the stomach, sometimes for years, this can lead to inflammation and create a chance for acid to reach the stomach wall
