Freeling’s family has been happy with MPDs handling of this investigation but is frustrated that it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. They’ve started a GoFundMe, Justice for Zack Freeling, to pay for private investigators & a reward, hoping someone with more info comes forward.
Freeling was discovered by his roommate who called 911. Gunshot wound to his left shoulder, the PI told me, adding that’s an unusual place for someone to try and commit suicide, especially if they’re left handed, which Freeling was. Freeling also didn’t own or like guns. #Fox5DC
Family also says they had discussions with Zack about suicide and he was adamant he wouldn’t do it after losing his father and brother. Said he was going to help people, was planning to start a food truck, making plans with friends. Wasn’t a man in crisis. #Fox5DC
