Well, I had no idea at all just how much work there is to do. Those officers were out-of-their-minds, robots, unthinking automatons. They behaved illegally at every point; misrepresenting the law, not only ignoring PACE but saying it didn’t count.
As per my article in @TheCriticMag, these cops had previously conducted an extortion, shaking down a war veteran for £60 to send him on a reeducation course. At no point did they advise him of his rights. It was ‘Sign here or be prosecuted’.
They told him that the Court of Appeal only counts if you have a written letter from it. They had no clue what law he had broken but were certain that he had. That’s why I presented as a barrier to his arrest.
One of the arresting officers was wearing a rainbow badge that said Hampshire Police on it. I told her that I refused to recognise her authority to arrest a man over a flag when she herself was wearing one.
We had a pre-action protocol written by our barrister and addressed to the Chief Constable. The officers refused to take it saying “We’re not post men.’. This will end badly for @HantsPolice I want blood. @threadreaderapp unroll.
