A patient 30 year old came with alleged history of foreign body ingestion.
What came next was quite a surprise for us.
On history pt said he has ingested arround 15 coins..
So endoscopy removal in the presence of anaesthetist was planned.
Upper GI done ✅
👇
Now to every one's surprise...
Coins kept on coming and as if a 🪙 mine in stomach..
After extensive labour...
We have the final result which quite unexpected to say the least.
So to add few more details.
Patient has history of psychiatric disorder..
We used Rat tooth forceps and basket to retrieve these ..
Because of location and stacking one coin 🪙 or at time 2 and 3 coins was retrieved at a go.
It was a team effort at our department.
So many good sense humour in replies.
few points.
Before procedure xray was done ✅
Obviously it can't show the number of coins.
Wait for self expulsion was advised to family but they choose the procedure.
We didn't do it under GA.
Anesthesia support was there .
Thanks everyone for encouragement and support.
We tried our best in resources we have .
