I was studying D&C 25:7 today and decided to use the dictionary to clarify two terms, Expound & Exhort. The modern dictionary’s definition I found to be sorely lacking, so I turned to the 1828 Webster’s version. #ComeUntoChrist#ScriptureStudy
Expound: To explain; to lay open the meaning; to clear of obscurity; to interpret
Exhort: to encourage, to embolden, to cheer, to advise. The primary sense seems to be to excite or to give strength, spirit or courage.
So to expound on the scriptures means to explain them, to find their meaning, and to clear them from obscurity.
Exhorting the church means to encourage, cheer, and advise, give strength and courage to its members.
I think this verse gives a very clear example of what the baptismal covenant entails each member to do and become. All of our exhorting and expounding should be done by and with the spirit of God. This is how we create Zion.

Thread: Do you know what makes Latter-day Saint women and other Christian women feel less than?
-When you imply that Heavenly Mother has lower standards than Heavenly Father.
-When you imply that Heavenly Mother isn’t seen as equal to the Father because we don’t pray to her.
-When you desecrate Heavenly Mother’s name to spread false doctrine and justify your own sinful behavior.
-When you say Heavenly Mother “could be” the Holy Ghost, who is a spirit without a body, instead of a fully resurrected, exalted being.
-When you imply that women are 2nd class citizens because they choose to stay home to raise their family instead of becoming CEOs and political leaders.
-When you imply that women are less because they aren’t ordained to the priesthood the way men are.
