What's worse, confidential tax records obtained by @propublica reveal that "Johnson’s last-minute maneuver benefited two families more than almost any others in the country—both worth billions and both among the senator’s biggest donors." #SenatorForSale propublica.org/article/secret…
Those families were billionaires Diane Hendricks and the Uihleins.
You may know them as the billionaires behind Scott Walker's anti-union frenzy.
In 2018 alone, thanks to Ron Johnson, the Uihleins got $43.5 million in federal income tax cuts and Diane Hendricks got $36 million.
Johnson's own wealth has doubled since taking office—in part thanks to his special business tax break deal.
His own company benefited from the tax cut, and he later went on to sell it for up to $25 million.
BTW, while he was negotiating a tax cut for himself and his billionaire donors, multi-millionaire Ron Johnson managed to pay just $2,105 in state income taxes. jsonline.com/story/news/inv…
These billionaires' investment in Johnson paid off big, so they're doing it all over again this year.
Hendricks and the Uihleins have already begun pouring millions into Super PACs to reelect Johnson—and hopefully secure even more tax cuts for themselves. jsonline.com/story/news/inv…
Moral of the story? Ron Johnson isn't looking out for working families in Wisconsin. He's looking out for himself & his billionaire donors.
It's supposed to be "of the people, for the people," not "of the millionaires, for the billionaires." Working Wisconsinites deserve better.
