1/5. Here is a thread about the #PACTACT because we as Americans have a short attention span, but we cannot let this be forgotten. Part 1: Veterans are camping out on the Capitol steps to bring attention to the cause. nbcnews.com/politics/congr…
2/5. Part 2. The stumbling block for @SenToomey was making spending on this act "mandatory" vs "discretionary." He fudged the truth, though. No one added new spending. Making this spending mandatory acknowledges the debt the Nation owes these veterans.
3/5. Here in Nebraska, @SenatorFischer supported Senator Toomey, not Veterans. Even several days later, you will find no press release from Senator Fischer as to the rationale for her vote. Here is her official website. fischer.senate.gov/public/index.c…
4/5. Also, here in Nebraska, @SenSasse has issued no press release as to the rationale for his vote to support Senator Toomey, not Veterans. Here is his official website. sasse.senate.gov/public/index.c…
5/5. Yes, the news cycle moves on, but we cannot let this bill die. If you are a Veteran or a loved one of a Veteran, or you care that millions of Veterans deployed and became ill for you, then take about two minutes of your time to call your Senator.

1/10. 10-part thread about the "Inflation Reduction Act," which needs 50 votes in the Senate to pass, as it will pass the House. First, Treasury Secretary Yellin's summary. home.treasury.gov/news/press-rel….
2/10. Yellin is an advocate for most nations imposing a minimum business tax to stop businesses from off-shoring for tax advantages. This bill imposes a minimum 15% on reported corporate income (e.g. the income the corporation reports to shareholders).
3/10. This bill also includes a lot of the Build Back Better tax incentives to pursue renewable energy sources. It is not the "Green New Deal," it is incrementalism. That part probably won't make some folks happy.
