"Dana Vira Karna" The Entertainment Ecosystem, Karna premis will tell you that Karna was unmatched in charity, kind-hearted, and couldn't refuse anyone. It was Indra who took his Kavacha Kundalam by deceit.
This thread will debunk the above claims; please read ++

The reason for Karna to give charity is below:
It is Karna who instigates Duryodhana. He tells him to show his wealth and glory in order to insult the Pandavas. He even says it would be a great joy to see Arjuna and Draupadi mAta in poverty. This is nothing but sadism.

Duryodhana readily says yes & they go to the Dvaitavana forest where the Pandavas live. They station near a lake that the Gandharvas, headed by Chitrasena, have already occupied. They warn Kurus to go away as it is their place else they will be driven away.

A battle ensued between the Gandharvas and Kurus. Where the Gandharvas subdue the Kauravas, Karna flees from the battle in Vikarna's chariot. Duryodhana is taken back as a prisoner. In the end, the Pandavas rescue Duryodhana. Arjuna even vows to drink the bl00d of Gandharvas.

Duryodhana contemplates sU..i..c..ide by fasting as he was disgraced by Gandharvas, his sworn enemies. Pandava protecting him. But Karna tells him not to weep. He tells him that Pandavas were part of his kingdom, and they did their duty.

In order to prove his worth, Karna starts a Digvijay yatra. He tells Duryodhana that he will disprove Bhishma's words (who says Karna fled away from the battle and it's not even one-fourth of the Pandavas).The Digvijay yatra was successfully completed and ended with Vishnu Yajna.

This is when Karna takes an Asuri(asura) vowing to destroy Arjuna.
Till he keells Arjuna Karna :
1. He will never wash his feet.
2. Taste Meat
3. To whoever asks DANA(charity), I will not say NO.

So that CHARITY was part ofvow to KILL Arjuna there is nothing NOBLE about it.

Now, the question is, is, did Indra deva cheat Karna? This is answered in Kundala harana parva.
Indra conveys to Yudhistara that he will help Pandavas.
Is it adharma ? definitely not. See the Mahbharata war was Deva (Pandavas) and Danava (Kaurvas ) Yuddh, each helped their own.

As Indra promised Yudhstara, the Danavas called upon Duryodhana in the above Ghosha Yatra Parva that Duryodhana must not die, and the Danavas would help him in defeating the Pandavas. Its clear intentions of Indra's actions are justified. Did Karna know about Indra's plans ?? ++

Suryadeva appears as Brahmana warns him about Indra's plan. He even explains that rings were born from amruth. He must give everything except those rings. But Karna says if Indra Begs for those rings, he will give them away because he will get GLORY(even here he is not noble)

When Karna refuses to do so, Suryadeva gives him an idea to give the kavacha/kundala on one condition, that is, take a weapon named shakti from Indra. Which can destroy anyone in the battlefield.

The Indra appears as a brahmana, Karna recognises its Indradeva. He offers him lands,wealth, etc. But Indradeva refuses them. Even Karna refuses to part with kavacha,since Indradeva oesnt budge Karna asks boons in EXCHANGE for the charity.

So is this really a charity or a deal?

Karna then asks two boons :
1) His body should not wither after the kavacha is gone. He must remain like before.
2) The Shakti weapon Indra gives him under one condition it can be used only once against a mighty warrior.

Is this a charity? no, its a business transaction!!

Karna was happy, but Indra told him that the one whom he wishes to destroy cannot be destroyed because he is protected by the Veda Purusha himself, Narayana !!
This shows us that one cannot be harmed if he does sharanagati to Sriman Narayana.

In fact Indra deva protected Karna; how?
Karna would have lost to Arjuna in the battle but couldn't die due to the rings. For a Kshatriya death is better than disgrace, he would have remained on earth forever like Ashwathama roaming without a kingdom, but he got warrior's death.

Hence this dana veera sura karna is nothing but false image and hype created by adharmis. I request fellow Hindus to stay away from it and read our scriptures rather then getting knowledge from comics/movies/serials.
