In a case that's drawing comparisons to the 2014 Bundy standoff, church camp owners in Nevada are tearing down an earthen dam on a national wildlife refuge because they think the water behind it belongs to them. @JenniferYachnin with the story: eenews.net/articles/nev-l…
Much like Bundy, the owners of the Patch of Heaven church camp initially took their complaints to court. They were even backed in their claims by then-Nevada AG Adam Laxalt, now a GOP Senate hopeful in Nevada. Now they have decided to take the law into their own hands.
The Bundy connections don't stop there. As Yachnin reports, the camp owners detailed their plans to tear down the dam in an interview, posted on YouTube, with radio host and anti-government activist Pete Santilli, who spent 21 months in prison for his role in the Bundy standoff.
And then there's this: Annette Fuentes, who owns the camp with her husband, Victor, told Santilli that federal officials threatened them with criminal charges but were not going to stop them from breaching the dam because "they didn’t want a Bundy situation."
