A little excitement: Somebody saw a mouse.
We are still voting on the Susan Collins anti-IRS-telework amendment
Apparently I slept through the exciting mouse.
Susan Collins amendment fails. We’re through about 6 hours of amendment futility so far at about 2.5 amendments per hour. #Votearama
The reporting cavalry has shown up. @elwasson has arrived for the morning shift. You guys should follow him and get him over 30K followers so at least something productive happens in the next hour or two.

Enable USA to reach a 40% reduction in carbon emissions from 2005 by 2030? Fine. But not in and of itself, a 40% reduction.

The June 6th CBO score on the PACT Act makes clear the bill would reclassify ~$400B in existing Veterans discretionary health spending to mandatory and why.

In an epic oopsie, the bill had a glitch — a tiny tax cut that had not originated first in the House as required by the Constitution. So the Senate has to pass the bill again without the glitch. Cont'd...
Toomey, probably the #1 Republican spending hawk, voted no the first time around, and says no to a quick fix. He doesn't like the shift to mandatory spending. His worry: It *could* open up $400B in discretionary spending by future Congresses under budget caps.
