Gonna make a new thread for the #TarotInsecta, a project which will probably never be finished, is not currently available for sale, but which I am having fun with.
Suits are Wasps, Moths, Beetles & Waterbugs, with some others showing up in the Major Arcana. Wasps correspond to Swords, Moths to Staves, Beetles to Pentacles and Waterbugs to Cups.
The Eight of Wasps seems like a hopeless situation—the victim bound in silk, and a spider lurking below. But on closer inspection, the spider is dead and this wasp species may have a trick up its sleeve… (Flagging this one as sensitive for a dead spider for my arachnophobes.)
The wasp larvae of Reclinervellus nielseni hijacks orb-weaver spiders and, not content to merely eat them, forces the spider to spin a reinforced cocoon web where the larvae will pupate into its adult form. Whether this particular larvae is one of that species remains to be seen.
(Still not entirely pleased with the death curl on the spider, but it wasn’t getting better the more I fiddled with it. May revisit later.)
There was only one possible choice for the Magician. In addition to remarkable feats of stasis and prime numerology, the genus name of the periodic cicada is “Magicicada.”
It’s D&D night and combat begins with the by-now familiar refrain: “It’s the chicken’s turn.”
A bandit has attacked the party, but missed and is now drunkenly fighting a credenza.
UPDATE: The bandit has botched his roll against the credenza and gotten his scimitar stuck in the wood. He believes it has taken his weapon and is screaming at it.
All righty, internet, off to a protest! Hold the fort for a couple hours until I get back!
I return! No got punched and I am not in jail. It was actually really nice. Big crowd for our tiny town, lots and lots of support from passersby.
Ran into my dentist and a local Digger fan. (Hi, Rachel!) Big range of ages, from fierce young people to aging hippies muttering about how they got through this before and they’ll do it again.
