Can we stop with the "no former president has ever been subject to a raid of their personal residence"?
1. IT WAS NOT A RAID! It was an executed search warrant. Know the difference.
2. The FBI has never before had a reason to execute a search of a former president 's home. 👇
3. If Trump had returned the CLASSIFIED docs as requested by the National Archives and as REQUIRED BY LAW, then #2 doesn't happen.
4. "If it could happen to Trump it could happen to you" is a load of political crap. It will happen to you if you commit a crime. See #3.👇
5. Trump is NOT a martyr. He's under investigation because of HIS actions. Again, see #3.
Trump is NOT above the law. The hypocrisy here mocks the very Rule of Law his minions profess to uphold.
6. Yes, this is serious. Let's treat it as such without all of the performative crap

3/5 And now you say “After decades of fighting for voting rights, many Black friends in Oklahoma saw this as a direct attack on their right to vote.” And that reaction surprised you? Now, imagine taking the vote away from White Oklahomans, would you still be surprised?

1/4 I believe like a majority of my fellows patriots the office of the Presidency embodies who we are as Americans. It represents the heart of our compassion, the better dreams of those who built this country both freed and enslaved, the eyes of those filled with hope or despair
2/4 and the wisdom of each of us to make a meaningful difference. The Chair behind the Resolute Desk has always been bigger than any one person or any political party.
It is neither prop nor ornament. It is the seat of the people.
3/4 Sadly, we have witnessed the occupant of that Chair devolve into preying upon our fears and resentments with a narcissism that nurtures only chaos and confusion. Dr. King reminds us "our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." My country matters

1/8 As attention turns to the #MuellerTestimony I'm reminded of Sen. Margaret Chase Smith in her 1950 #DeclarationofConscience--a response to her party and the tactics of #McCarthyism--where she noted among other things "We are Republicans. But We are Americans first."
2/8 "It is as Americans that we express our concern with the growing confusion that threatens the security and stability of our country. Democrats and Republicans alike have contributed to that confusion.."
3/8 "Certain elements of the Republican Party have materially added to this confusion in the hopes of riding the Republican party to victory through the selfish political exploitation of fear, bigotry, ignorance, and intolerance."
